There is one style in particular we find ourselves re-creating over and over again and it is
Mid-Century Modern
We can’t think of anything more comforting than sitting back on a winter’s morning with a good book and a sip of coffee in a living room full of nature inspired colors, textures, simple minimalistic lines, and turn-of-the-century
Timeless pieces.
Our favorite timeless piece is the Charles Eames chair originally dated from 1956.
There’s so much to love about this chair like the way it seems to cradle around you as you sit in it. You hardly need the ottoman with how comfortable this chair is!
You can buy this chair directly from the official Eames website or you can own a piece of luxury from online retailers like Lumens Light + Living.
For a lot lot less, you can find it online from retailers like Wayfair or Amazon.
I knew how much I love Mid Century Modern after re-designing one of our previous projects, the Lake House Project - Becky
That project started traditional and coastal for the client so if you’re loving everything there is to love about Mid Century Modern, keep reading!
Mid Century Modern style is defined with the following observations:
Organic and geometric shapes
Spheres, rectangles, ovals, and hexagons!
Patterned, geometric tile, funky retro-style decor, artwork, and even custom island shapes all nod to the wonderful Mid Century Modern style!
Function over form!
As a kitchen and bath designer, I strongly emphasize function over form all the time in my designs especially in the kitchen!
I can problem solve to make it look spectacular, but ultimately, every aspect of your design has to have a purpose.

Neutral + Bold colors!
Neutral, Monochromatic colors inspired by nature with a pop of bold color are indicative of Mid-Century Modern style.
Bringing nature indoors is significant of Mid Century Modern style like this wrought iron flock of birds wall art, & earth tones in this design like the walls in Sherwin Williams color of the year for 2022
